Sweet Beginnings Diaper Bank

Sweet Beginnings Diaper Bank was founded by Executive Director Lisa Sweet.  She has lived in Contra Costa County for over 30 years. She worked for the county in Health Services as a Registered Nurse and with Children and Family Services (CPS) as a Liaison for adoptive and foster families. Lisa and her family have also served as a Licensed Foster Family in Contra Costa County.  Seeing the needs of these families Lisa opened Sweet Beginnings Women’s Resource Center in 2013 which became Sweet Beginnings Diaper Bank a few years later. The families we work with are struggling; Contra Costa County is one of the wealthiest and most expensive places to live in California. have no family to assist them. Most are married and working.  We also assist foster parents, and relative care providers. Sweet Beginnings Diaper Bank evolved out of a need to provide prevention instead of responding to a crisis. We are located in Concord, California. As a diaper bank and we also provide feminine hygiene products both directly to clients and through Community Partners. We are distributing over 15,000 diapers a month and are being asked for more.  Our services, assist our most vulnerable population. We are a 100 percent volunteer run program, including Lisa who still actively works as a Pediatric RN. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a community partner. or volunteering.
